Panhellenic is the governing body for 6 of the 26 national/international sororities that belong to the National Panhellenic Conference. Panhellenic sponsors and coordinates Formal Recruitment each fall semester. UH’s Panhellenic women average higher GPAs than the all-women’s UH average. Many members are on the Dean’s List, in the Honors College and in the Greek honor society Order of Omega. Others have been recipients of large national and local scholarships.

IFC is a self-governing organization of 10 NIC fraternities that promote chapter collaboration and unified fraternal action. With some of the oldest chapters in the University of Houston Greek community, IFC strives to build community by providing leadership, educational and intramural opportunities for its membership.

Founded on the University of Houston campus in 2003, MGC governs 15 culturally-oriented and faith-based fraternities and sororities. MGC sponsors community service projects and leadership development for its member organizations, in addition to creating policies that govern each of the participating chapters.

The National Pan-Hellenic Council is the governing body for the “Divine Nine” historically African-American fraternities and sororities. NPHC aims to unify the 7 member organizations represented on the UH campus through an emphasis on community service, academics, leadership development and collaboration.
